Yamaha DM3-D: Compact Console, Pro Features
The DM3-D follows a less-is-more design: a 9-inch multitouch screen and a single touch-and-turn knob handle most operations, so it feels as intuitive as a smartphone. Input mixing covers 16 mono channels, one stereo channel, and two FX returns, with 6 mix buses, 2 FX buses, and 2 matrices for monitors, streams, and zones.
Dante for Fast, Flexible Systems
Built-in Dante connects the DM3-D to stage boxes such as the Yamaha Tio1608-D2, other consoles, and recording computers over a single network cable. It’s ideal for multi-console setups, like a separate stream mix alongside front of house, and for Dante Virtual Soundcard multitrack recording.
Setting Up the DM3-D
Connect microphones and instruments to the local inputs, or add a Tio1608-D2 over Dante for stage inputs. Patch the outputs to your PA and monitors, load QuickPro Presets for mics and speakers, and use GainFinder for gain staging. Connect USB to a computer to record or stream, and use DM3 StageMix on an iPad to mix from the room.
What to Pair With the DM3-D
Pair the DM3-D with a Yamaha Tio1608-D2 stage box, powered speakers and monitors, an iPad for StageMix, the RK-DM3 rack mount kit, Cat5e/Cat6 cable, and a road case.
QuickPro Presets
Developed with engineers and manufacturers such as Audio-Technica, Sennheiser, Shure, and Ultimate Ears, more than 200 input presets and many output presets get you very close to a great mix in minutes, and serve as ideal starting points for fine-tuning.
Recording and Streaming
Record 2-track directly to a USB flash drive, multitrack to a DAW over USB, or over Dante. The USB connection sends mixes straight to streaming software, and the bundled Cubase AI and DAW Remote mode let the faders control your DAW.
Remote Mixing
DM3 Editor allows offline setup, DM3 StageMix provides iPad control of the console, and MonitorMix lets up to 10 performers adjust their own mixes from phones and tablets.
Portable and Rugged
At just 6.5 kg (14.3 lbs), the DM3-D is easy to carry, yet its robust housing stands up to touring. The optional RK-DM3 kit allows rack mounting for permanent installs.
DM3-D vs. DM3 Standard
Both share the same mixing engine, I/O, and touchscreen. The DM3-D adds 16×16 Dante networking for stage boxes and multi-console systems, while the DM3 Standard omits Dante.
