Allen & Heath Avantis: dLive Power in a Compact Console

Avantis brings Allen & Heath’s flagship processing to a console that fits smaller FOH positions and tighter budgets. The Continuity UI blends physical controls with drag-and-drop touchscreen workflows, and configurable widget areas put scenes, meters, and FX where you want them. 24 assignable SoftKeys and user-configurable rotary controls let you build a layout that matches the way you mix.

What dPack Adds

dPack unlocks dLive-grade processing inside the Avantis input and mix channels with zero latency and no extra FX slots. DEEP compressors include PeakLimiter 76, 16T, 16VU, Mighty, Opto, OptTronik, and Bus compressors, plus Source and Dual Threshold expanders and the Dual Stage Valve Preamp. Dyn8 combines four bands of dynamic EQ with four bands of multiband compression across 16 instances, and exclusive RackExtra FX include HypaBass and Transient Controller. On current firmware, dPack also expands the mix engine to 96 input channels and 56 configurable mixes.

Setting Up the Avantis

Connect local sources to the 12 XLR inputs, or connect a compatible Allen & Heath stagebox over SLink for stage I/O. Patch outputs to your PA and monitor systems, add Dante, MADI, Waves, or gigaACE cards in the two I/O ports as needed, and use word clock to sync with other digital gear. Build your layers and SoftKeys, then save scenes for each show.

What to Pair With the Avantis

Pair the Avantis with an Allen & Heath stagebox such as the DX168 or GX4816, a Dante card for network audio, a road case, an iPad for Avantis Director or MixPad, and quality vocal and instrument microphones.

Expandable I/O

Two I/O ports each support 128×128 channels at 96 kHz with option cards for Dante, MADI, Waves, and gigaACE, and the SLink port connects stageboxes and expanders. That flexibility lets the Avantis grow from a local-input setup to a fully networked system shared with monitors, broadcast, and recording.

Built for the Road

An all-metal chassis, locking XLR inputs, and a compact footprint make Avantis ideal for touring and rental, while the familiar fader-per-channel layout and fast touchscreen workflow help guest engineers get up to speed quickly.
