Chauvet DJ Swarm Wash FX ILS: Four Effects, One Fixture

The Swarm Wash FX ILS packs a complete light show into a single fixture. The rotating derby throws multicolor beams across the room, the RGB+UV wash floods the dance floor with color and blacklight, the red and green lasers create hundreds of moving beams, and the white strobe ring adds high-energy accents. Built-in programs coordinate the effects instantly, and each effect can be controlled individually over DMX.

Integrated Lighting System

ILS is Chauvet’s lighting ecosystem for coordinating shows across multiple fixture types. Use the Swarm Wash FX ILS with an ILS hub such as the GigBAR Move + ILS to create synchronized looks across your whole rig, wired or wirelessly. With an optional D-Fi USB transceiver, you can also run wireless master/slave or DMX control.

Setting Up the Swarm Wash FX ILS

Mount the fixture on a stand, truss, or T-bar, or set it on a flat surface. For quick setups, choose an automatic or sound-active program, or link multiple units in master/slave. For full control, set a DMX address and choose 2- or 18-channel mode. Use the optional IRC-6 remote to change programs and blackout during your event, and power link units to reduce extension cords.

Making Effects Look Their Best

Derby and laser beams are only visible in the air when there’s haze or fog to catch the light. Run a hazer or fog machine at a low, steady level to make beams pop without filling the room with smoke. Mount the fixture above head height and aim it across the dance floor for the widest coverage.

Laser Safety

The Swarm Wash FX ILS includes Class 3B and Class 3R laser components. Avoid direct eye exposure, keep laser beams above head height, and never aim them at the audience. Follow local regulations for laser use at public events.
