Product Details

The Chauvet DJ Wash FX 2 is a multipurpose LED fixture that works as both a color wash light and a dynamic effect light. Its 18 quad-color RGB+UV LEDs are arranged in six zones that can chase independently, so a single fixture can bathe a stage in color one moment and create eye-catching chases and blacklight effects the next.

Highlights

  • 18 quad-color (RGB+UV) LEDs
  • Works as a wash light or a multi-zone effect light
  • Six chasing zones for dynamic effects
  • UV for blacklight effects and expanded color mixing
  • Strobe from 0 to 25 Hz
  • Stand-alone, DMX (3, 8, or 28 channels), IR, and master/slave; IRC-6 remote compatible

Chauvet DJ Wash FX 2: Wash and Effects in One

Most lighting rigs need separate fixtures for washes and effects. The Wash FX 2 handles both. Use it as a wide 40-degree wash to color a stage, backdrop, or dance floor, then switch to its built-in chase effects to make the lights move with the music. Six independently controlled zones create sweeping chases, while the UV element adds a blacklight glow that makes white clothing and fluorescent materials pop.

Wash FX 2 Control Options

Run the Wash FX 2 in stand-alone mode with built-in programs, link multiple units in master/slave mode, or control colors and effects from across the room with the optional IRC-6 remote. For full creative control, connect a DMX controller and choose 3-channel mode for simple color control, 8-channel mode for effects, or 28-channel mode for individual zone control.

Setting Up the Wash FX 2

Mount the Wash FX 2 on a lighting stand or truss and angle it toward the stage or dance floor. For stage washes, use two fixtures from opposite sides for even coverage. For effects, place them behind the performer to backlight the stage with chases and color. Link multiple units for synchronized looks across a larger rig.

What to Pair With the Wash FX 2

Combine the Wash FX 2 with moving heads or derby effects for a complete DJ or band rig, and add a haze machine to make the beams visible in the air. The IRC-6 remote makes quick color changes easy without a DMX controller, and lighting stands or truss provide mounting options.

Using UV Light at Events

UV, or blacklight, makes white fabrics, teeth, and fluorescent materials glow, creating a fun, high-energy look for parties, school dances, and glow-themed events. The Wash FX 2 lets you mix UV with color or run it on its own. For the strongest effect, dim other lighting in the room and hand out glow accessories or decorate with fluorescent materials.

Chauvet DJ Wash FX 2 FAQ

Can I use the Wash FX 2 as a regular wash light? Yes. It works as a standard wash light with a 40-degree beam, and switches to effects when you want more movement.
