Blizzard SoC-It: DMX Over Wi-Fi

Running a DMX cable from the control position to the first fixture is often the hardest part of a setup, especially at weddings, in ballrooms, and on stages without a cable path. The SoC-It removes that cable. Plug it into the DMX input of the first fixture in your chain, connect your device over Wi-Fi, and send sACN or Art-Net to it. The SoC-It converts the network data into standard wired DMX for the rest of the chain.

Because it uses open standards, the SoC-It isn’t tied to a single app. Use At Full for quick, intuitive control, or connect lighting software and consoles that output sACN or Art-Net.

At Full App Control

Blizzard’s At Full app turns a phone or tablet into a lighting controller. Patch fixtures, set colors and intensities, and run looks without a hardware console. Paired with the SoC-It, it’s a complete wireless control system that fits in a pocket, ideal for DJs, event lighting, and small venues.

Setting Up the SoC-It

Charge the SoC-It over USB, then plug it into the DMX input of the first fixture in your chain. Connect your phone or tablet to the SoC-It’s Wi-Fi, or add the SoC-It to an existing network for greater range. Set your app or software to output sACN or Art-Net, address your fixtures, and run your show. Terminate the end of the DMX chain as usual.

What to Pair With the SoC-It

Pair the SoC-It with a tablet running At Full, quality DMX cables between fixtures, a DMX terminator, and your Blizzard or other DMX lights. A USB power bank extends runtime for all-day events.

sACN and Art-Net Explained

sACN and Art-Net are network protocols that carry DMX data over Ethernet or Wi-Fi. They let software, apps, and consoles control lights over a network instead of a dedicated DMX cable. A converter like the SoC-It is the bridge between that network data and the wired DMX that most fixtures expect, so you get the convenience of wireless control with the compatibility of standard DMX.
