Obsidian NX Touch: Professional Control, Compact Footprint

The NX Touch brings professional ONYX lighting control to small venues, churches, schools, and touring rigs that need a portable, affordable surface. Touch faders combine playback and programming control in one surface, and velocity-sensitive pads add expressive, performance-style control of flashes and effects.

ONYX Software and Licensing

The NX Touch includes an ONYX NOVA license that supports up to four DMX universes along with OSC, MIDI, and timecode control. One universe is output directly from the NX Touch’s 5-pin DMX port, and additional universes can be sent over network protocols or additional nodes. ONYX scales up to 128 universes for large systems.

Setting Up the NX Touch

Install ONYX on a Windows PC, connect the NX Touch over USB, and connect its DMX output to your first fixture. Patch your fixtures from the ONYX library, build presets and cues, and assign them to the playback faders. Use the pads for flash buttons and effects, and the parameter faders for live adjustments.

What to Pair With the NX Touch

Pair the NX Touch with a Windows PC or touchscreen computer, 5-pin DMX cables, a DMX terminator, and an Obsidian network node for additional universes. A rack option is available for permanent installs.
