Sennheiser EW-D ASA: Cleaner, Stronger Wireless Racks

Every wireless receiver needs a pair of antennas, so a four-channel rack without a splitter means eight antennas fighting for space and line of sight. The EW-D ASA lets all four receivers share one pair of antennas, ideally mounted remotely with a clear view of the stage. Because the splitter is active, it compensates for the signal loss of splitting, maintaining full diversity reception for every receiver.

The ASA also powers the connected EW-D receivers, eliminating a pile of individual wall-wart power supplies from your rack.

Using the EW-D ASA With Remote Antennas

For the best performance, pair the EW-D ASA with directional antennas such as the Sennheiser ADP UHF, mounted above the audience and aimed toward the performance area. The splitter supplies 12 V to active antennas or antenna boosters when longer cable runs are needed, so you can place antennas far from the rack without sacrificing signal.

Setting Up the EW-D ASA

Mount the splitter in your rack with your EW-D receivers, connect the antenna inputs to your antennas, and connect each receiver’s antenna inputs to the splitter outputs with the included BNC cables. Power the system from the included NT 12-35 CS power supply. Use the EW-D Smart Assist app to scan for clear frequencies and sync your receivers and transmitters.

What to Pair With the EW-D ASA

Pair the EW-D ASA with up to four EW-D receivers, a pair of ADP UHF directional antennas, low-loss antenna cables, and a rack case or rack shelf. For larger systems, a second splitter in 1:8 mode can extend distribution.
