RODE Wireless GO II: Two Mics, One Tiny Receiver

The Wireless GO II handles two transmitters at once, so interviews, two-person vlogs, and panel segments are easy. Power on, let the units pair automatically, and start recording. A bright LCD on the receiver shows battery levels, audio levels, and signal strength, and there are no menus to navigate on set.

Each transmitter clips to clothing as a self-contained lavalier, or works as a traditional bodypack with an external lav mic like the RODE Lavalier GO.

Recording Flexibility

Choose stereo mode to record each transmitter to its own channel, or merged mode to mix both into left and right. Using the RODE Central app, enable a safety track recorded 20 dB lower to protect against clipping, set the onboard recorder to Always or Backup mode, and export files as WAV or MP3 with time stamps and markers wherever the wireless link dropped.

Setting Up the Wireless GO II

Charge all three units over USB-C. Mount the receiver on your camera’s shoe or clip it to a recorder or phone rig, and connect it with the included SC5 cable, or use USB-C for digital audio into a computer or mobile device. Clip a transmitter to each subject about a hand’s width below the chin, attach the furry windshields outdoors, and set the receiver’s output level to suit your camera.
