Allen & Heath ZED60-10FX: Big Features, Small Mixer

The ZED60-10FX gives small setups the tools usually found on larger consoles. Each mono channel has a switchable high-pass filter and 3-band EQ with sweepable mids, plus FX and aux sends for effects and a monitor mix. Listen (PFL) buttons, mute switches, and 60 mm faders give smooth, tactile control.

Made for Guitars

Channels 3 and 4 include discrete, Class-A FET Hi-Z inputs, so you can plug a guitar or bass straight in without a DI box. A gain boost switch accommodates low-output pickups, and the FET circuitry approximates the warmth of a tube input stage.

Setting Up the ZED60-10FX

Connect microphones to the XLR inputs, guitars to the Hi-Z inputs on channels 3 and 4, and keyboards or playback devices to the stereo inputs. Connect the XLR main outputs to your powered speakers and the aux output to a monitor. Set gain with the PFL meters, then add effects with the FX sends.

The 2-in/2-out USB interface sends a stereo mix to your Mac or PC for recording or streaming, and plays audio back from your computer. A dedicated recording bus lets you choose which channels go to the recording, separate from the main mix.

Individual vertically mounted channel circuit boards and front-panel controls secured with metal nuts give the ZED60-10FX the durability of larger Allen & Heath mixers. Preamps are based on the respected MixWizard design for low noise and high gain.
