Electrovoice R300L

The Electro-Voice R300-L is a UHF lavalier wireless system that gives presenters, teachers, and pastors hands-free freedom with reliable sound. It pairs the BP-300 bodypack transmitter with EV’s ULM18 cardioid condenser lavalier, and the true diversity receiver uses ClearScan to find the clearest of 32 channels automatically. The system ships in a carrying case.

Electro-Voice R300-L: Hands-Free Wireless Made Simple

Lavalier systems let speakers move freely and use their hands while presenting, teaching, or preaching. The R300-L keeps setup simple: run ClearScan on the receiver to find a clear channel, sync the bodypack, and you’re ready. The ULM18 lavalier uses a cardioid pattern, which provides more feedback rejection than typical omnidirectional lavaliers, an advantage in rooms with loudspeakers near the presenter.

Economical, Long-Lasting Operation

The BP-300 bodypack runs up to 14 hours on two AA alkaline batteries, so it handles full days of meetings or multiple services without battery changes. That efficiency also keeps battery costs down for churches and schools running several systems every week.

Setting Up the R300-L

Clip the ULM18 lavalier to the center of the chest, about six to eight inches below the chin, with the capsule pointing toward the mouth. Clip the bodypack to a belt or waistband, and route the cable under clothing. Place the receiver with a clear line of sight to the speaking area, connect it to your mixer, and run ClearScan before each event.

What to Pair With the R300-L

Pair the R300-L with a mixer or powered speaker, spare or rechargeable AA batteries, and replacement lavalier windscreens. For singers and presenters who prefer a handheld, the matching R300-HD handheld system works alongside the R300-L.

Lavalier Placement Tips

Because the ULM18 is directional, aim the capsule toward the speaker’s mouth and keep it centered on the chest so the voice stays on-axis as they turn. Avoid placing the mic under heavy fabric or near necklaces and badges that can rub against it. A small cable loop near the clip absorbs movement and reduces handling noise.

Wireless Tips for Churches and Schools

Assign each wireless system to a specific person or room and label transmitters and receivers so they never get mixed up. Replace batteries before every service or school day rather than waiting for them to die, and keep a log of channels in use so new systems can be added without interference. A quick soundcheck walk-through of the room before each event catches dead spots and loose cables early.

Electro-Voice R300-L FAQ

Is the lavalier omnidirectional or cardioid? The ULM18 is a directional (cardioid) condenser lavalier, which helps reject background noise and feedback.

Can I run multiple R300 systems together? Yes. Use ClearScan on each receiver to select compatible clear channels.
