The Yamaha DM5 Compact digital mixing console brings Yamaha’s DM7-derived processing engine into a rack-mountable, single-bay chassis. It’s built for engineers who want DM5-series channel processing, effects, and Dante networking without the footprint of the full dual-bay DM5 — a fit for smaller stages, install booths, and broadcast racks alike.

Metro Sound & Lighting is an authorized Yamaha Pro Audio dealer now taking reservations for the Yamaha DM5 Compact as part of Yamaha’s new DM5 series launch.

Yamaha DM5 Compact Overview

The DM5 Compact mixes up to 48 channels across 24 mix busses, 12 matrices, two stereo busses, and 12 DCAs, with 13 faders (12 plus master) in a single bay. It carries a 13.3″ touchscreen and 4.3″ utility display with an adjustable tilt for four viewing angles, and unlike the full-size DM5, the Compact’s chassis is rack-mountable — a fit for install racks and broadcast trucks where the dual-bay DM5 won’t fit.

Yamaha DM5 Compact Use Cases

The DM5 Compact’s smaller footprint and rack-mount option make it a fit for jobs like:

Small to mid-size live sound — 48 channels and 12 DCAs in a chassis that travels easier than a dual-bay console.
Install racks and broadcast trucks — rack-mountable, unlike the full-size DM5, for spaces where a fixed console position isn’t practical.
Houses of worship and corporate AV — the same channel processing and Dante networking as the DM5, sized for smaller production teams.
Monitor or broadcast submix duties — a compact second desk alongside a larger FOH console.
