Shure SLXD24/SM58: Digital Wireless Made Simple

SLX-D brings Shure’s digital wireless technology to small and mid-size spaces without the complexity of large-venue systems. Its 24-bit audio sounds clear and natural, and Digital Predictive Switching Diversity switches antennas before dropouts occur. The SM58 capsule provides the familiar warm, clear vocal sound and feedback rejection that made it an industry standard.

Easy Setup

The SLXD4 receiver’s auto-scan finds the cleanest available frequency, and IR sync links the transmitter to it with the push of a button. A high-contrast LCD shows RF, audio, and battery levels, and up to 60 dB of adjustable gain with on-screen guidance makes setting levels easy. XLR mic/line and 1/4-inch instrument outputs connect to any mixer or amplifier.

Setting Up the SLXD24/SM58

Rack-mount or place the half-rack receiver with a clear line of sight to the stage, attach the antennas, and connect its XLR output to your mixer. Run a frequency scan, press Sync to set the transmitter, and adjust gain using the receiver’s display. For multiple systems, connect receivers over Ethernet and run a coordinated group scan.

What to Pair With the SLXD24/SM58

Pair the SLXD24/SM58 with an SB903 rechargeable battery and SBC10-903 or SBC203 charger, UA874 active antennas for extended range, and a UA844+SWB antenna distribution system for multi-channel racks. Add SLXD1 bodypack systems with lavalier or headset mics for presenters.

Flexible Capsule Options

The SLXD2 transmitter’s interchangeable capsule design lets you choose the right sound for each user. Optional capsules include the Beta 58A, Beta 87A, and KSM8, offering dynamic and condenser options for different voices and stages.

Rechargeable Power

With the optional SB903 lithium-ion battery, the transmitter displays remaining battery life in hours and minutes, and the SBC203 dual-docking charger can recharge the battery while it’s still in the transmitter. It’s a cost-effective, environmentally friendly alternative to disposable AA batteries for churches and schools that use their mics every week.
