QLX-D brings Shure’s professional digital wireless technology to mid-size venues, houses of worship, and installed A/V. Its 24-bit digital audio sounds clear and natural, and Digital Predictive Switching Diversity switches antennas before dropouts can occur. AES 256-bit encryption generates a unique key each time it’s enabled, keeping private meetings and sermons secure.
The SM58 capsule is the industry standard for vocals and speech: its cardioid pattern rejects background noise and feedback, and its brightened midrange delivers warm, clear voice reproduction.
Intelligent Setup and Control
The QLXD4 receiver scans for, prioritizes, and deploys the cleanest frequencies, then syncs them to the transmitter by IR. It offers up to 60 dB of adjustable gain with an internal limiter to prevent digital clipping, audio and RF meters, and both XLR and 1/4-inch outputs. The Ethernet port lets you network multiple receivers for automatic frequency coordination and real-time monitoring in Shure’s Wireless Workbench software, and the system works with AMX and Crestron control systems.
Setting Up the QLXD24/SM58
Place the receiver with a clear line of sight to the stage, attach the included antennas, and connect its XLR output to your mixer. Run a frequency scan, press Sync to send the frequency to the transmitter by IR, and set gain so that loud speech or singing reads near the top of the meter. For multiple systems, network the receivers and coordinate frequencies in Wireless Workbench.

Pair the QLXD24/SM58 with an SB900A rechargeable battery and SBC charger for lower running costs, UA874 active or PA805 passive antennas for longer range, and a UA844+SWB antenna distribution system for multi-channel racks. Add QLXD1 bodypack systems with lavalier or headset mics for presenters.
