Sennheiser XSW 2-835: Wireless Freedom for Vocalists

A wireless microphone lets performers move freely on stage, interact with the audience, and avoid tripping over cables. The XSW 2-835 brings that freedom with Sennheiser reliability. The e835 capsule offers a cardioid pattern that rejects stage noise and controls feedback, with a tailored response that keeps vocals clear and present in the mix.

The true diversity receiver uses two antennas and selects the stronger signal at every moment, which reduces dropouts as the performer moves around the room.

XSW 2-835 Setup and Multi-Channel Use

Setup is quick: choose a frequency bank and channel on the receiver, sync the transmitter, and you’re ready. The system offers 8 banks with up to 12 compatible channels each, making it easy to run multiple XSW 2 systems together for a band, worship team, or panel discussion. The receiver provides both XLR and 1/4-inch outputs for connecting to any mixer.

Tips for Reliable Wireless Performance

Place the receiver with a clear line of sight to the performance area, away from metal objects and other wireless gear. Use fresh or fully charged batteries before every show, and run a quick frequency scan at each new venue to find clear channels. When using several systems at once, keep them in the same frequency bank so the channels are guaranteed to work together.

Why the e835 Capsule Matters

The e835 is one of Sennheiser’s most popular wired vocal microphones, known for a warm, natural sound with a slight presence lift that helps vocals cut through. Using the same capsule in a wireless system means your singers get a familiar, proven sound whether they’re on a cable or not. The cardioid pattern keeps background noise and monitor spill out of the vocal channel, and it’s forgiving for less experienced vocalists who don’t always hold the mic perfectly.

Sennheiser XSW 2-835 FAQ

Can I run several XSW 2 systems at the same time? Yes. Each bank offers up to 12 compatible channels, so multiple systems can operate together without interfering with each other.
