Product Details
The Radial Trim-Two is a passive stereo direct box designed for AV, connecting laptops, phones, media players, keyboards, and DJ gear to a sound system with clean, balanced outputs. Three input types (1/4-inch, RCA, and 3.5 mm) cover nearly any source, a front-panel level control lets you set volume right at the source, and a mono merge switch sums stereo to mono when channels are limited, all without batteries or power.
Highlights
- Passive stereo DI optimized for AV and line-level sources

- Easy-access front-panel stereo level control

Radial Trim-Two: The AV Engineer’s DI
Presenters, worship teams, and DJs regularly need to plug in a phone, laptop, or media player at a moment’s notice. The Trim-Two accepts whatever cable they bring, with 1/4-inch, RCA, and 3.5 mm inputs on one box, and its front-panel level control makes it easy to tame hot consumer outputs without walking back to the mixer.
Clean, Isolated Signal
A pair of Eclipse transformers galvanically isolate the source from the sound system, eliminating buzz and hum caused by ground loops. They deliver ultra-linear frequency response and handle levels up to +15 dB, giving consumer -10 dB devices plenty of headroom. A ground lift switch at the XLR outputs solves stubborn hum issues.
Setting Up the Trim-Two
Connect your source to the 1/4-inch, RCA, or 3.5 mm input, and run XLR cables from the two outputs to your mixer or stage box. Set the level control so the signal is strong without distortion, engage mono merge if you only have one channel available, and use the ground lift if you hear hum.
What to Pair With the Trim-Two
Pair the Trim-Two with XLR cables, a 3.5 mm to 3.5 mm cable for phones and laptops, RCA cables for media players, and a mixer or stage box.
Parallel Inputs for Splitting
Because the inputs are wired in parallel, one connector can carry the source while another feeds a monitor or second destination, a handy trick for presentations and small events.
Mono Merge
When mixer channels are limited, the mono merge switch sums left and right into a single signal on both outputs, so you can use one channel without losing half the audio.
Built Radial Tough
A 14-gauge steel enclosure shields against magnetic fields, an I-beam inner frame protects the circuit board from torquing, and Radial’s book-end design creates a protective zone around controls and connectors.
Where to Use It
The Trim-Two is ideal for conference rooms, classrooms, churches, theaters, and corporate events, anywhere guests connect phones and laptops to the house system.
Radial Trim-Two FAQ
Does it need power? No. It’s fully passive.
Can I plug in a phone? Yes. Use the 3.5 mm input with a standard stereo cable.
