dB Technologies SUB 918: Controlled, Powerful Bass

The SUB 918 gives you complete control of low-end power to deliver deep, full-bodied sound in clubs, live events, and installations. Its bass-reflex design and high-efficiency Digipro G3 amplifier produce strong output without excessive weight, and its onboard DSP makes it easy to match with any full-range speaker.

Onboard Controls and Remote Management

Rear-panel controls provide attenuation, a polarity switch, crossover frequency adjustment from 70 to 110 Hz, and delay up to 4.5 ms in 0.5 ms steps. Connect to RDNet and use Aurora Net software for Windows or Mac to monitor and control every subwoofer in real time, extend delay to 21 ms, and build advanced subwoofer configurations matched to dB Technologies’ RDNet-enabled full-range systems.

Setting Up the SUB 918

Place the SUB 918 on the floor, standing vertically or lying horizontally. Connect your mixer or processor to its inputs and link to your full-range speakers. Set the crossover to suit your tops, adjust delay to align the sub with the full-range speakers, and use the polarity switch if the bass sounds thin at the listening position. Mount a top speaker directly above using a standard M20 pole.

What to Pair With the SUB 918

Pair the SUB 918 with dB Technologies full-range or line array speakers such as the DVA K5, an M20 speaker pole, an RDNet control interface for remote management, a padded cover, and the optional wheel kit.

Bass-Reflex Subwoofer Design

A bass-reflex cabinet uses a tuned port to reinforce the woofer’s output at low frequencies, giving more efficiency and deeper extension than a sealed box of similar size. That makes it a popular choice for live sound subwoofers, where you want maximum output and punch from every watt of amplifier power.

Built for Transport

The SUB 918’s robust plywood cabinet delivers high performance at a manageable 41.8 kg, with two integrated handles on the top edges and wheel mounting points on the back for easy rolling. Two M20 mounts, on the top and side panels, let you pole-mount a top speaker whether the sub stands vertically or lies horizontally.

dB Technologies SUB 918 FAQ

Can I control it remotely? Yes. Use RDNet and Aurora Net software for real-time monitoring and control.

Can it stand horizontally? Yes. It’s designed for vertical or horizontal use, with M20 mounts on both the top and side.
